he sun rose slowly along the horizon, its pale yellow hue tinting the sky in shades of pinks and orange, and clouds soft hues of purple. It was early morning, and Lynx hadn't caught even an ounce of rest yet. Tired, bloodshot eyes dragged across the view of the forest just beyond his self imposed territory. He was tempted to venture out a bit past the silverpath, but he could smell the scent of many there. It seemed the forests, both skeletal and otherwise, were spoken for. Not that it was a bother to him. He was content, lying upon the cool metallic surface of the silverpath, his chin resting upon a track without much care. The path was silent for a long time, the last thundersnake being the one that carried him here.
He found himself at an impasse. He was tired, but he was always tired. He could get up and meet the locals, but did he really want to? He never was much for wanting to hold the spotlight, rather he preferred his presence to be subtle. He wouldn't be staying long, after all. Soon there would be a thundersnake traveling the opposite way and he would allow himself to be swallowed back up. But until then.
Begrudgingly, he slowly rose to his massive paws and stretched them before himself. The stretch, particularly good, unsheathed his ivory claws as his jaws part into a nonchalant yawn. He shook away what dredges of needed sleep that tried to cling to his dry eyes. It was time to get up. To do what? He wasn't sure, but surely he'd figure something out. He padded off of the path, shaking out his dusty fur once more before setting off down the line at a leisurely pace.
He was in no rush.
His lips smacked subconsciously, a dark tongue peeking out to drag along the length of his oversized fang. Perhaps… Perhaps he'd try his paw at snagging a bite to eat. He had long since run dry of his dried meats and hadn't even bothered to hunt since. Probably not the brightest moments in his life, but could you blame him? At least the large feline had a goal now.
