Setting & Plot
MAP

The Left By StarClan (LBS) setting is loosely based on Washington State's environment and climate. Volcanic, mountainous, temperate, forested, somewhat Northern, and somewhat coastal (as the "Lake" is actually a small sea). It's important to remember that although the setting is based on a real place, we do not intend on making it literally that place. This also facilitates the possible future expansion of the map as the roleplay itself expands.

Currently, LBS's map is 16x16, spanning about 256 sq miles in area. It takes an average cat about 8 hours, a little less than half a day, to move the full 16 squares across (one end of the map to the other) without stopping. A cat moving with consistent haste can make it in about 6 hours, but would be extremely fatigued. Each square is 1 sq mile, 640 acres, or 2.6 kilometers. To put the size into perspective, an acre is about the length of an American football field. It takes about 30 mins to cross a single map square. Please keep these measurements in mind when working travel (and travel time) into your posts.

LBS uses semi-liquid time. Every real life (RL) week is 1.5 weeks in the roleplay. Your cat can be in multiple threads in the same roleplay forum (the Lake for example), but must account for travel time for a new thread anywhere else. So, if a character posts a thread at the Lake, for example, then wants to post a thread with the same character in the FireClan camp, they must account for the about 5 hour travel time (~3.3 real life hours). If you are ever unsure, don't be afraid to ask. Emrakul is bad at math herself after all ;o;
